PANE IN THE GLASS PRODUCTIONS

 A PICTURE OF SORROW

He was having trouble sleeping,
And his food had lost its flavor.
The voices!  Oh, yes, the voices!
What caused this strange behavior?

A chemical imbalance?
Emotional distress?
Addiction and compulsion?
It’s anybody’s guess.

A therapist was called upon,
To diagnose his case.
It seemed it was depression
From love that was abased.

After months of counseling,
They told him he was well.
As soon as he was loose again,
He made his plans to go to hell.

Back at home he packed his bags;
Then he got a gun
And headed out to fix his mind,
To kill his wife and then his son.

Parked out in the darkness,
He cannot see the light.
Until his brain be put to rest,
Will harm be out of sight.

What can stop these senseless acts,
From hearts made of coal?
Parents, let this be your chore,
To raise a healthy, caring soul.
